What is it? / Overview
Wellness uses some people report: boosting autophagy and extending lifespan. This is anecdotal, and there isn't strong clinical evidence that it works for everyone. Spermidine is a natural polyamine that induces autophagy, mimicking effects of caloric restriction and fasting; it declines with age, and restoring it improves cardiac and cognitive function and extends lifespan in animal models. In humans, higher dietary spermidine intake is associated with lower mortality in prospective cohort data, and small pilot trials suggest cognitive benefit, though a definitive causal RCT for longevity outcomes doesn't yet exist.

Already taking it? Generally well tolerated in trials -- reasonable to continue. The strongest human evidence is epidemiologic (dietary intake linked to lower mortality) plus small cognitive pilot studies, not a causal outcome trial.
