The cheapest product is usually low quality, but more expensive doesn’t always mean better.
Boswellia contains boswellic acids that help reduce inflammatory pathways involved in osteoarthritis. Clinical studies suggest it can reduce pain and improve physical function, often with fewer GI side effects than long-term NSAID use.
Form: Standardized Boswellia serrata extract (30–40% boswellic acids or AKBA-standardized)
Typical dose studied: 250–500 mg, 2–3 times/day (500–1,000 mg/day total)
Timing: With meals
Standardized extracts preferred over raw resin. Benefits generally appear after 4–8 weeks. Often stacked with curcumin for joint health.
~ Moderate evidence
Avoid with: Breastfeeding
Interacts with: Anticoagulants and antiplatelet medications — use caution
Already taking it? Evaluate benefit after 8–12 weeks before continuing. Limited safety data in pregnancy -- worth stating plainly even though the platform's own intake flow already hard-blocks recommendation generation for anyone reporting current pregnancy.
